evidence BAsed Practices
![]() |
Rite of Passage provides a comprehensive array of programs and services for youth that are based on evidence and follow program fidelity principles. While our program currently implements multiple cognitive-behavioral curricula, we are also implementing a second-generation of evidence-based programming. This has been achieved through training and collaboration with researchers from top university criminology departments. The result is an evidence-based framework in which we operate our programs and support our youth. |
An evidence-based framework considers all the elements of the program – and how they can be enhanced to positively impact youth services, and reduce the likelihood of recidivism. Through our collaboration with industry experts, the following practices characterize Rite of Passage's evidence-based frame work:
Social learning theory
Risk/needs assessments using a validated risk assessment tool
Understanding unique youth characteristics (responsivity)
Individualized treatment plans
Cognitive behavior therapy
Effective behavioral management system
Effective program implementation
Understanding staff characteristics/roles
Quality assurance/fidelity practice
Effective practices in community supervision
