Student Profile

Our students enter our programs with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. They may be referred by juvenile courts, child welfare agencies or by their parents or guardians.
All have individual strengths and all have distinctive competencies – yet we find many students have difficulties in school, display disruptive behavior, struggle emotionally and have low self-esteem. Troubled family relationships are also common. Despite these challenges, Rite of Passage students often display resiliency and motivation to achieve future goals.
Rite of Passage responds to the individual characteristics and needs of each youth by offering a variety of programs for youth between the ages of 11 and 20.
